U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $1.5 Million in Stone County Medical Center Expansion

Federal Grant Expected to Create 18 Jobs and Generate $500,000 in Private Money

The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) today announced a $1.5 million grant to White River Health System Inc., of Mountain View, Ark., to create higher-skill, higher-wage jobs by building additional clinical space at the Stone County Medical Center hospital.

"The Economic Development Administration is pleased to partner with White River Health System Inc. to boost business development and job growth," said Sandra R. Walters, EDA Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer. "This EDA grant is expected to attract $500,000 in private investment and create 18 jobs for local citizens."
