U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $64,300 to Create Jobs, Strengthen Economy in New Bern, North Carolina

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) today announced a $64,300 grant to the Neuse River Council of Governments, doing business as the Eastern Carolina Council, of New Bern, N.C, to develop a plan to enhance the ability of the region's aviation cluster to attract private investment and create jobs.

"The Economic Development Administration is pleased to partner with the Eastern Carolina Council to boost business development and job growth," said Sandra R. Walters, EDA Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer. "This EDA grant will help create a strategy to attract private investment and create jobs by capitalizing on the region's emerging aviation sector."
