U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $100,000 to Create Jobs, Strengthen Economy in Cowlitz County, Washington

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) today announced a $100,000 grant to the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments, Kelso, Wash., to coordinate flood recovery efforts in Cowlitz County in response to storms that devastated the region in 2007.
"The Economic Development Administration is pleased to partner with the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments to boost business development and job growth," said Sandra R. Walters, EDA Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer. "This EDA grant will help boost economic recovery in Cowlitz County following the 2007 storms and help mitigate the economic impact of future weather related incidents."
