U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $142,880 in the University of Kentucky Research Foundation, Lexington, Kentucky to Create Jobs, Strengthen Regional Economy

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) today announced a $142,880 grant to the The University of Kentucky Research Foundation, Lexington, Ky., to support the operation of the University Center economic development technical assistance program.

The University Center program provides local government and nonprofit organizations with resources to better analyze the economic needs of local communities.

"The Economic Development Administration strongly supports the innovative research and development that takes place at our nation's colleges and universities," said Sandra R. Walters, EDA Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer. "The Department of Commerce is pleased to partner with The University of Kentucky to improve the business climate and standard of living in their communities."
