WASHINGTON - The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) today announced an $184,884 grant to West Central Indiana Economic Development District, Inc., of Terre Haute, Indiana to continue a comprehensive economic development planning program.

"Economic recovery and growth are top priorities for the Obama Administration," said U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development John Fernandez. "This EDA grant will continue an economic development planning program that is advancing regional competitiveness by working to spur innovation and entrepreneurship, create higher-skill, living-wage jobs, and promote industry clusters."

"Through the implementation of the CEDS process, WCIEDD has been able to identify market-based projects throughout the region, and more specifically help communities identify and prioritize projects that are integrally connected to a successfully diversified regional economy," said Merv Nolot, Executive Director, West Central Indiana Economic Development District, Inc.
