U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $748,500 to Improve Wastewater Infrastructure in Support of Business Growth in Prattsburgh, New York

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $748,500 grant to the town of Prattsburgh, New York, to make critical wastewater improvements needed to support growth in the city’s downtown business district. The EDA grant will be matched with $748,500 in federal and local funds.

“Supporting our communities as they update vital infrastructure to meet the needs of businesses is a top priority for President Trump,” said Dana Gartzke, Performing the Delegated Duties of the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development. “This project will establish a new wastewater collection system and refurbish the wastewater treatment facility currently serving the Prattsburgh School District campus to encompass existing businesses and attract new businesses, including a major telephone call center.”

This project was made possible by the regional planning efforts led by the Southern Tier Central (STC) Regional Planning and Development Board, which brings together the public and private sectors to create an economic development roadmap to strengthen the regional economy, support private capital investment and create jobs.
