In collaboration with Kansas City’s premier entrepreneurial, philanthropic, business and civic organizations, ECJC will administer and finance a $5 million equity pre-seed fund. While Kansas City has done an excellent job of growing entrepreneurs and supporting them with training and services, the gap in early-stage funding is a major hindrance for the entrepreneurial support network. The seed fund will advance our start-up support efforts and fill the gap in access to seed-stage capital, as there are virtually no options for entrepreneurs seeking between $50,000 and $350,000 of funding. By Q4 2019, ECJC expects the fund’s portfolio companies to have created 40 jobs and generated $2 million in revenue.
