Regional Accelerator & Innovation Network

This EDA investment will support a strategic partnership between the grantee, Regional Accelerator & Innovation Network (RAIN), and Portland Seed Fund. RAIN has nearly a decade of experience connecting entrepreneurs and innovators to key resources. This project will promote inclusive innovation economies through community-based events, educational workshops, and a collaborative network of partners and stakeholders with the shared goal of preparing the region’s technology startups for funding.

Portland Seed Fund has invested over $20 million in seed-stage companies in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon & Washington) over the past 12 years and launched Portland Seed Fund IV (March 2022), which has already raised $7 million and plans to reach $20 million by February 2023. Portland Seed Fund IV will make initial capital investments until March 2026 in pre-seed and seed-stage, capital-efficient technology startups in the Pacific Northwest that have high-growth potential. Together, RAIN and Portland Seed Fund will leverage each other’s expertise to supercharge growth of the Pacific Northwest entrepreneurial ecosystem by elevating and investing in diverse, scalable technology startups.
