The Santa Cruz River/Sonoran Corridor (I-19) Recompete Plan, led by Santa Cruz County, requests approximately $50 million to assist its rural communities overcome decades of disinvestment and address new vulnerabilities created by climate change. Recompete funding will invest in a continuum of training and services for job placement and creation, strategies to diversify and strengthen the business ecosystem, and the development of sustainable infrastructure. The plan will leverage approximately $50 million in public, private, and philanthropic funding and builds on regional efforts towards climate resiliency, digital equity, and industry re-investment.
