The fourth industrial revolution, commonly known as Industry 4.0, has garnered significant attention for its profound effects on manufactured products and processes. The construction industry is equally susceptible to the transformative power of technology, yet much fewer resources have been dedicated to supporting this industry. To address this significant shift, the CIRAS EDA University Center: Construction 4.0 is dedicated to advancing Industry 4.0 in Iowa construction. This initiative will examine the potential disruptions, opportunities, and innovative solutions arising from the integration of cutting-edge technologies within the construction industry. By bridging the gap between Industry 4.0 and construction businesses, CIRAS seeks to move the construction industry into a new era of innovation and efficiency, facilitate knowledge transfer, foster collaboration between university, industry, and technology experts, and provide technical and management solutions to solve the industry’s workforce needs.
