The UM-Flint EDA University Center for Community & Economic Development's scope of work will be divided evenly among four areas of focus: (1) regional commercialization efforts, (2) cultivating innovation, (3) developing a highly skilled workforce, and (4) increasing resiliency within the region. The UM-Flint EDA UC will coordinate, inform, and contribute to economic development efforts that cultivate innovation, support proof-of-concept development and commercialization, and provide employer-identified workforce development programs needed to build and sustain a resilient, inclusive economy.
