The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley University Center (UTRGV UC) leverages UTRGV's economic and workforce development, entrepreneurship, innovation, and commercialization entities to maximize the efficacy of our resources and expertise. UTRGV’s UC supports underserved entrepreneurs and small businesses across three key areas: advancing high-growth entrepreneurship, cultivating innovation, and strategically expanding regional commercialization. Our efforts are focused through five key initiatives:

  1. Promote High-Growth Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Region
  2. Expand Access to Programs and Services to Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses
  3. Foster a Thriving Regional Ecosystem that Supports Startups, Small Businesses, and Stakeholders
  4. Enhance the Skills and Capabilities of Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners
  5. Increase Regional Resiliency and Job Creation

Our highest priority is to assist participants in advancing their business opportunities by enhancing support mechanisms for entrepreneurs and small businesses and improving access to programs and services. The desired outcomes include the creation of new business ventures, capacity building in existing businesses, expansion of UTRGV's footprint, enhanced resiliency, and job creation.
