Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $62.7 million in grants to the Southwestern Pennsylvania New Economy Collaborative to supercharge the region’s globally recognized robotics and autonomy cluster.

Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $65.1 million in grants to the Fresno-Merced Future of Food Innovation (F3) Coalition, led by the Central Valley Community Foundation, to drive agriculture innovation in California’s Central Valley.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Alaska Mariculture Cluster as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $49 million in grants to the Alaska Mariculture Cluster, led by the Southeast Conference, to catalyze a sustainable mariculture industry in Alaska.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Global Epicenter of Mobility Coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $52.2 million in grants to the Global Epicenter of Mobility Coalition, led by the Detroit Regional Partnership Foundation, to transform the Detroit area’s legacy automotive industry into a highly competitive advanced mobility cluster.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Mountain | Plains Regional Native CDFI Coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $45 million in grants to the Mountain | Plains Regional Native CDFI Coalition, led by the Four Bands Community Fund, to  grow the Indigenous finance sector and expand economic opportunity in Native American communities in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Virginia Advanced Pharma Manufacturing (APM) and R&D Cluster as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $52.9 million in grants to the Virginia Advanced Pharma Manufacturing (APM) and R&D Cluster, led by the Virginia Biotechnology Research Partnership Authority (Activation Capital), to boost Virginia’s pharmaceutical industry.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce H2theFuture as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $50 million in grants to H2theFuture, led by the Greater New Orleans Development Foundation, to boost the clean energy sector in New Orleans.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the South Kansas Coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $51.4 million in grants to the South Kansas Coalition, led by Wichita State University, to strengthen aerospace production in southern Kansas.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Building Central Florida’s Semiconductor Cluster for Broad-Based Prosperity as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $50.8 million in grants to the Building Central Florida’s Semiconductor Cluster for Broad-Based Prosperity, led by the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners, to boost semiconductor industry in central Florida.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $4.6 million grant to Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc., Frederick, Maryland, for building renovations to support a science business incubator. This grant is funded by the American Rescue Plan.
