WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $21.5 million American Rescue Plan Good Jobs Challenge grant to the Mid-South Center for Occupational Innovation, Memphis, Tennessee, to establish Opportunity Now!, an electric vehicle workforce training program.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced grant awards to 32 industry-led workforce training partnerships across the country as part of the $500 million Good Jobs Challenge funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan. The Good Jobs Challenge is administered by the Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration and will enable communities across the country to invest in innovative approaches to workforce development that will secure job opportunities for more than 50,000 Americans.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $23.5 million American Rescue Plan Good Jobs Challenge grant to WTIA Workforce Institute, Issaquah, Washington, to develop information technology workforce training programs across eleven U.S. states: Alabama, Louisiana, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo today is announcing the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $11.4 million American Rescue Plan Good Jobs Challenge grant to UnidosUS, Washington, D.C. to implement multi-sector workforce training programs with a focus on Latino populations in Puerto Rico and Denver, Colorado.
