WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $993,265 grant to the city of Carbondale, Illinois, to reconstruct a portion of North McRoy Drive to support businesses in the Bicentennial Industrial Park. This grant is funded by the American Rescue Plan and EDA’s $300 million Coal Communities Commitment.

In the U.S. Department of Commerce, as many as 7.1 percent of employees may identify as members of the LGBTQI+ community, on par with one recent estimate of the nation’s total LGBTQI+ population.
