EDA Welcomes Ben Page as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Development and Chief Operating Officer
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, the Economic Development Administration (EDA), a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce, announced that Ben Page has been appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Development and Chief Operating Officer effective April 22, 2024.
“Ben’s expertise in operational management, budgeting, and project coordination will support the kind of growth we expect as we continue to shape a modern, dynamic EDA that delivers excellence across our ever-growing roster of historic investments,” said Alejandra Y. Castillo, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development.
Most recently, Ben served as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Commerce for implementation of the Department’s infrastructure and large-scale programs. In this role, he led efforts to ensure successful implementation of high-priority initiatives and served as the Department’s liaison to the White House Infrastructure Implementation Taskforce.
“As a long-time champion of EDA from roles across Commerce and government, I look forward to working with everyone to continue EDA’s tradition of success, build on recent accomplishments, and create a model organization to support economic development,” said Page.
Page previously served over a decade as the Chief Financial Officer of the U.S. Census Bureau, as well as a Branch Chief at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) where he advised three OMB directors.
Ben received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee and a master’s in public policy from George Washington University.
