WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $568,740 grant to the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) Research Foundation in Washington, D.C., to bolster leadership development in Economic Development Districts (EDD) across eight states.
This grant will support a regional training program for emerging leaders in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. This EDA investment will be matched with $265,206 in local funds.
“Economic Development Districts help lead the locally based, regionally driven economic development planning process, coordinating cooperative efforts among the public, private, and non-profit sectors, said Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and External Affairs, performing the non-exclusive functions and duties of the Assistant Secretary for Economic Development Cristina Killingsworth. “EDA is proud to partner with NADO to foster leadership development within our EDD partners and to establish a strategic blueprint for regional collaboration.”
