WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Heartland Robotics Cluster as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $25 million in grants to the Heartland Robotics Cluster, led by the Invest Nebraska Corporation, to accelerate Nebraska’s leadership in the agricultural industry through robotic technologies and advanced manufacturing automation.

Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $49 million in grants to the Alaska Mariculture Cluster, led by the Southeast Conference, to catalyze a sustainable mariculture industry in Alaska.

Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $63.7 million in grants to the New Energy New York coalition, led by The State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton, to accelerate battery technology innovation in New York.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Appalachian Climate Technology (ACT Now) coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $62.8 million in grants to ACT Now, led by Coalfield Development Corporation, to create a hub of clean energy and green economy jobs. 

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Georgia AI Manufacturing (GA-AIM) coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $65 million in grants to GA-AIM, led by the Georgia Tech Research Corporation, to accelerate integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in industry.

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $677,440 grant to Huerfano County, Colorado, to establish a business incubator program to support local, retail-based entrepreneurs. This grant is funded by the American Rescue Plan.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $5.8 million grant to the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, Choctaw, Mississippi, for construction of the Advanced Workforce Training Center. This grant is funded by the American Rescue Plan’s Indigenous Communities program.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $6 million grant to Building Bridges Across the River, Washington, D.C., to build an environmental education center at the new 11th Street Bridge Park. This grant is funded by the American Rescue Plan.
