WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced $13.5 million in U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) grants to support 11 Trade Adjustment Assistance Centers (TAACs) that help manufacturers affected by imports adjust to increasing global competition and to create jobs. The TAACs, which each service multiple states, are located in California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo is pleased to announce that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) has begun awarding its historic $3 billion in American Rescue Plan funds to assist communities nationwide in their efforts to build back better by accelerating the economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic and building local economies that will be resilient to future economic shocks.

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $840,400 CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to Alameda County, California, to support recovery of the region’s economy by providing technical assistance and other resources to small and medium-sized businesses. This EDA grant will be matched with $840,400 in local investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2 million grant to Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas, to purchase key tools and supplies to support the new Flight Test Research Center and a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facility for the National Institute for Aviation Research. This EDA project, to be matched with $222,219 in local funds, is expected to create 75 jobs and retain 7 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3.7 million grant to the city of Winona, Mississippi, for the installation of a 250,000-gallon water tank, creating economic resiliency while facilitating job creation and retention. The EDA grant, to be matched with $1.2 million in other federal, state, and local investment, is expected to create 15 jobs and generate $8 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding its first local investment as part of the Coal Communities Commitment to the Morgantown Utility Board in Morgantown, W.Va. The $2 million American Rescue Plan grant will help  create 300 jobs and generate $250 million in private investment to build a new  beverage processing and packaging facility in the Morgantown Industrial Park.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.1 million grant to Colorado Mesa University (CMU), Grand Junction, Colorado, to provide equipment and technology to support physician’s assistant, physical therapy, and occupational therapy degree programs. This EDA grant will be matched with $280,495 in local funds and is expected to help create 210 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.2 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, Lubbock, Texas, for enhancements to the Lubbock Rail Port, supporting job creation and business expansion. This EDA grant, to be matched with $1.2 million in local funds, is expected to create 38 jobs and generate $5 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the city of Wynne, Arkansas, to construct a new industrial rail spur facility to support local manufacturers. This EDA grant, to be matched with $500,000 in local funds, is expected to create 200 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.9 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the city of Farmersville, Texas, to build new fiber optic broadband infrastructure to support businesses and residents. This EDA grant will be matched with $727,203 in local funds.
