WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.2 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to support the post-pandemic recovery of Pennsylvania’s small businesses through the PA Digital Transformation and E-commerce Program. This EDA grant, to be matched with $300,000 in local funds, is expected to retain 2,000 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.5 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission, Amarillo, Texas, to support the purchase and renovation of a workforce development center. This EDA grant will be matched with $551,187 in local funds.

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $500,000 grant to Business and Industrial Corporation of Denison, Inc., Denison, Texas, to support development of a master plan for the Texas Gateway Logistics Park that will assess the suitability of existing infrastructure, determine the best use for the property, and take into account transportation and engineering needs.

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $516,360 CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to Blue Ridge Community and Technical College, Martinsburg, West Virginia, to expand its plastics training program to meet local industry workforce needs in Morgan, Jefferson and Berkley counties. The project, to be matched with $294,190 in local funds, is expected to create 345 jobs and retain 770 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $902,500 grant to the city of Hartwell, Georgia, to support critical upgrades to the city’s wastewater treatment plant to accommodate a new distribution center and other businesses. This EDA grant, to be matched with $902,500 in local investment, is expected to create 130 jobs and generate $550 million in private investment.

This EDA grant, to be matched with $263,212 in state and local funds, is expected to create 156 jobs and retain 264 jobs.
