WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $915,120 CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the Nevada System of Higher Education, Las Vegas, Nevada, to support the post-pandemic revitalization of Nevada’s travel and tourism sectors. This EDA grant, to be matched with $228,780 in local investment, is expected to create 13 jobs and retain 120 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.2 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the county of Bernalillo, New Mexico, to build fiber optic infrastructure to support business expansion. This EDA grant, to be matched with $303,147 in local funds, is expected to create 2,400 jobs and generate $190 million in private investment.

U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $2 Million in CARES Act Recovery Assistance to Support Manufacturing Growth in Huron, Ohio

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the city of Huron, Ohio, to reconstruct Sawmill Parkway, a critical roadway that serves Erie County’s largest industrial park. This EDA grant, to be matched with $1.3 million in local funds, is expected to create 321 jobs, retain 41 jobs and generate $403 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2 million grant to the city of Sikeston, Missouri, to support development of the South Industrial Park. This EDA project, to be matched with $657,000 in other federal funds and $236,700 in local funds, is expected to create 100 jobs and generate nearly $30 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M.
