WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.9 million grant to the town of Vinalhaven, Maine, to make stormwater infrastructure improvements needed to protect downtown businesses from flooding and to promote business growth. This EDA project will be matched with $1.9 million in state and local funds.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $4 million grant to the city of Detroit, Michigan, to reconstruct deteriorating roads in support of an automobile manufacturing plant that will begin producing all-electrical vehicles. This EDA project, to be matched with $6.7 million in local funds, is expected to create 810 jobs, retain 300 jobs, and generate $45 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $830,123 CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the Southeast Nebraska Development District, Lincoln, Nebraska, to capitalize and administer a Revolving Loan Fund, providing gap financing to small, local businesses in Butler, Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Polk, Richardson, Saline, Saunders, Seward, Thayer, and York counties. This EDA grant, to be matched with $207,531 in local investment, is expected to create 25 jobs and generate $2 million in private investment.
