The Centrepolis Accelerator at Lawrence Technological University (Centrepolis) works with entrepreneurs and small businesses to innovate and commercialize technology solutions in the cleantech, climatech, and circular economies. Since launching in October 2020, Centrepolis has supported 188 projects and attracted $668 million in circular economy funding to Michigan. This EDA investment will help spur innovative technology and service deployment, generate high-paying jobs, and remove market barriers.

Centrepolis will work in partnership with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, and other circular economy and economic cluster innovation specialists. This project will provide technical assistance to deploy technology and service solutions with a focus on distressed communities and creating upstream and downstream markets. Examples of specialized services includes: coaching, investor connections, and programing coordinated through Michigan’s SmartZones, access to university labs for commercialization support, testing and product road mapping, and convening circular economy events with industry stakeholders.
