The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) is a non-partisan research and educational institute – a think tank – whose mission is to formulate and promote public policies to advance technological innovation and productivity internationally, in Washington D.C., and in the states. Before coming to ITIF, Dr. Atkinson was Vice President of the Progressive Policy Institute, Director of PPI’s Technology & New Economy Project, served as the first Executive Director of the Rhode Island Economic Policy Council (a public-private partnership including as members the Governor, legislative leaders, and corporate and labor leaders), and Project Director at the former Congressional Office of Technology Assessment.
