University City Science Center is the nation’s oldest and largest urban research park. Dr. Tang is the first president in the Science Center’s history to have not only led a company through venture funding and an initial public offering, but to also serve as a senior executive with a large life sciences company as it acquired and integrated smaller start-ups. In 2013, the Science Center established a Digital Health Accelerator (DHA) to help promising startup companies developing online, mobile and software solutions to healthcare problems. Since the program’s inception, a total of seven companies have been selected to participate in the DHA, from a pool of 69 applicants via a multi-stage process.
