The New Orleans BioInnovation Center (NOBIC) will scale a proven and innovative Life Science Technology Commercialization assistance program from serving entrepreneurs in the New Orleans area to a statewide effort in order to make NOBIC a regional life science research commercialization hub.  This program will support the creation of high-growth life science entrepreneurial ventures that will contribute to regional economic growth.

NOBIC will leverage the previous EDA investment in its infrastructure and expand the services and reach of the technical assistance team to further support commercialization of novel drugs, vaccines, medical devices, and more.  Three specific initiatives that will be implemented include

  • increasing the capacity of life science commercialization services to support a larger number of entrepreneurs in Greater New Orleans and throughout the state;
  • establishing and scaling educational and networking events to include innovators statewide to promote the growth of life science research commercialization and new innovations; and
  • developing a life science mentorship network to leverage the experience of established entrepreneurs for younger startups in Louisiana who lack expertise in certain areas of technology commercialization.
