ACTION Innovation Network’s Plymouth Rock Project will develop and expand programs to assist international startups forming or expanding their ventures in the greater Boston region, with the goal of developing sustained economic growth and foreign direct investment.

The project will identify, attract, place in incubators, and grow international high-growth, innovation-based technology startup companies in key sectors and industries looking to establish and develop a presence in the US. Utilizing the strength and connections within ACTION’s innovation ecosystem will ensure foreign direct investment opportunities are maximized by accelerating company investment and commercialization, and bring sustained job growth to the greater Boston region, using all levels of the local workforce.

By the end of the three-year grant period, ACTION expects to have established connections with 15 international entities, contacted a minimum of 300 international companies, recruited 120 companies for program participation, and assisted 30 international companies in establishing a base in the regional incubator network that will create high-quality jobs. After five years, the program is projected to settle 40 companies in ACTION incubators, and support the creation of 150 direct jobs.
