Houston Community College’s West Houston Institute (WHI) will establish a Consortium that will provide short-term strategies for responding to the current crisis and long-term planning for community resilience through regional development. The project will develop a connected regional network of partners across the maker, manufacturing, innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems. The Consortium will set a goal of identifying the critical issues and problems that they will work on collaboratively to create solutions that respond to the current crisis through innovative and entrepreneurial approaches that also establish long-term recovery and resilience for the region.

The Crisis to Opportunity (C2O) Consortium project will establish an extensive network that will provide a range of services to enable small business recovery and resilience in the most expeditious manner possible.

The project will incorporate not only local, but also national and international businesses (both non-profit and for-profit), as well as governmental entities to ensure further future scalability and allow transplant of the project design into other regional contexts.
