Meharry Medical College has been a leader in overcoming health disparities to establish opportunity and equity for nearly 150 years. It is a premier, historically Black health sciences educator and research institution focusing on primary care and an unwavering commitment to serving the underserved.

ResilienSEED interrupts the cycle of health and economic disparities and increases opportunities for minority entrepreneurship, business ownership, and wealth-building, and workforce diversity. ResilienSEED provides minorities of diverse backgrounds and experiences the opportunity to present business ideas (focusing on STEM, biotech, and healthcare) and connects them with critical, difficult-to-access investment capital and support needed to make their businesses successful.

ResilienSEED accelerates Nashville-based companies and minority-informed healthcare solutions to rebuild the economy and overcome social inequities. This project represents a significant opportunity to leverage project data as a foundation for future economic development initiatives to inform minority-owned business development. Meharry Medical College aims to innovate through the pandemic, learn from our successes, and share what is learned, thereby ensuring a resilient, safer, healthier, and more equitable “new normal.”
