In Southwestern Utah, the Five County Association of Governments (AOG), which includes Washington, Iron, Kane, Beaver and Garfield counties, exhibits a unique blend of economic growth and distress. Through the University Center Economic Development Administration Grant, this region can experience sustainable growth through robust programing and consistent coordination that will be focused in the following focus areas (with the anticipated percentage of time devoted to each): (1) advancing high-growth entrepreneurship (20%), (2) cultivating innovation (15%), (2) encouraging business expansion in the region’s innovation clusters (50%), (4) developing a high-skilled regional workforce (15%).
