WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1 million grant to the Dumas Economic Development Corporation, Dumas, Texas, for infrastructure improvements to the Dumas Business Park to support business growth. This EDA project, to be matched with $1.2 million in local funds, is expected to create 105 jobs and generate $3 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $6 million grant to the Midwest Energy Cooperative, Cassopolis, Michigan, a community that traditionally has been dependent on nuclear plants, to construct the needed road, sewer, and water infrastructure to support the 234-acre Southwest Michigan Advanced Research and Technology Park (SMART Park). This EDA grant, to be matched with $6 million in local funds, is expected to create 248 jobs and generate $14 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3.8 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the University of Michigan-Flint, Flint, Michigan, to construct the university’s new College of Innovation and Technology. WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.4 million grant to the city of Benson, Minnesota, to build an enclosed flood protection system for the city’s wastewater treatment plant and replace wastewater pipes to a local industrial park to protect businesses and residents during flooding events. The EDA grant, to be matched with $353,421 in local investment, is expected to create 20 jobs, retain 58 jobs, and spur $60 million in private investment.

U.S. Economic Development Administration Announces Grantees Under 2021 University Center Competition
