EDA announced 19 investments from February 9-15, 2024, totaling $5,290,000.00, which is matched by $7,198,975.00 in local investments. These investments include the following:

(1) $4,100,000 in 2 Economic Adjustment Assistance-2023 Disaster Supplemental projects to help regions that are experiencing severe economic distress or other economic hardship resulting from Hurricanes Ian and Fiona, wildfires, flooding, and other natural disasters occurring in calendar years 2021 and 2022 and help create 235 jobs, save 99 jobs, and leverage $176 million in private investments.

(2) $1,190,000.00 in 17 Partnership Planning projects to support the development and implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy process.

  • $4,100,000 in two 2023 Disaster Supplemental projects, matched by $6,008,975 in local investments, as follows:
    • $2,500,000 to Yoakum, TX, Yoakum/DeWitt County, Texas, to support making critical water and sewer infrastructure improvements at the Yoakum Industrial Park in DeWitt County, Texas. The project involves the construction of approximately 10,000 linear feet of 12-inch water line, 4,000 linear feet of 8-inch sewer force main and 5,000 linear feet of 12-inch gravity sewer line. Once completed, the project will create new opportunities for employment, support new business growth, and strengthen the regional economy. The grantee estimates that this investment will help create 105 jobs, save 99 jobs, and leverage $14 million in private investment.
    • $1,600,000 to the city of Bryan, Bryan/Brazos County, Texas, to support making critical infrastructure improvements to help the current and future business needs in Brazos County, Texas. The project will make roadway improvements and support manufacturing business expansion at the Texas Triangle Park. Once completed, the project will lay the groundwork for long-term economic vitality and advance economic resiliency throughout the region. The grantee estimates that this investment will help create 130 jobs and leverage $162 million in private investment.
  • $1,190,000.00 in 17 Partnership Planning projects, matched by $1,190,000.00 in local investments, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS). The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the SEDA Council of Governments, Lewisburg/Union County, Pennsylvania, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the SEDA Council of Governments, which comprises the counties of Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Juniata, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, and Union. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Tri-County Council for Western Maryland, Inc., Cumberland/Allegany County, Maryland, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Tri-County Council for Western Maryland, Inc., which comprises the counties of Allegany, Garrett, and Washington. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission, Towanda/Bradford County, Pennsylvania, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission, which comprises the counties of Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, and Wyoming. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Economic Development Corporation of Northeastern Pennsylvania dba Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance, Pittston/Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) in the region served by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance, as an Economic Development District (EDD), which comprises seven counties in Pennsylvania: Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill, and Wayne. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District, Taunton/Bristol County, Massachusetts, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District, which comprises 27 cities and towns in the counties of Bristol, Plymouth, and Norfolk. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the North Country Council Inc., Littleton/Grafton County, New Hampshire, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the North Country Council, which comprises the counties of Coos and Grafton, and the Carroll County towns of Jackson, Harts Location, Bartlett, Chatham, Hales Location, Conway, Albany, Madison and Eaton. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Mount Rogers Planning District Commission, Marion/Smyth County, Virginia, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Mount Rogers Planning District Commission, which comprises the counties of Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, Washington, and Wythe, and the independent cities of Bristol and Galax. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Genesee Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council, Rochester/Monroe County, New York, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Genesee Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council, which comprises the counties of Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Lake Champlain-Lake George Regional Planning Board, Lake George/Warren County, New York, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Lake Champlain-Lake George Regional Planning Board, which comprises the counties of Clinton, Essex, Hamilton, Warren, and Washington. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Southern Tier East Regional Planning Development Board, Binghamton/Broome County, New York, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Southern Tier East Regional Planning Development Board, which comprises 8 counties, 129 towns, 54 villages and 5 small cities of Binghamton, Ithaca, Cortland, Oneonta, and Norwich. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Southern Tier West Regional Planning and Development Board, Salamanca/Cattaraugus County, New York, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Southern Tier West Regional Planning and Development Board, which comprises the counties of Allegany, Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board, Syracuse/Onondaga County, New York, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board, which comprises the counties of Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Cumberland Plateau Planning District Commission dba Cumberland Plateau Planning District, Lebanon/Russell County, Virgina, to support the development and implementation of a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Cumberland Plateau Planning District Commission, which comprises the counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell, and Tazewell. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Lenowisco Planning District Commission, Duffield/Scott County, Virginia. to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Lenowisco Planning District Commission, which comprises the counties of Lee, Scott, and Wise, and the city of Norton. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission, Staunton/Augusta County, Virginia, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission, which comprises the counties of Augusta, Bath, Highland, Rockbridge, and Rockingham; and five independent cities—Buena Vista, Harrisonburg, Lexington, Staunton, and Waynesboro. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Accomack-Northampton Planning District Commission, Accomac/Accomack County, Virgina, to support the development and implementation of a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Accomack-Northampton Planning District Commission, which comprises the counties of Accomack and Northampton, and eight incorporated towns. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an counties economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $70,000 to the Mohawk Valley Economic Development District, Inc., Mohawk/Herkimer County, New York, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Mohawk Valley Economic Development District, Inc., which comprises the counties of Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Oneida, Otsego, and Schoharie. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
